About a year ago, my wife and I decided to move closer to our grandchildren. We left north Georgia and the city where we’d lived our entire married lives down near Florida, where the word “swelter” was probably invented. It was already hot when we moved in April, and it only got hotter as the summer progressed. Out of necessity I was involved in quite a bit more physical than normal, which meant that I was sweating more often and more profusely.
The water down south seems a bit harder than the water where we’d lived previously, and I often chose to drink iced tea instead. Thus, I wasn’t properly flushing my kidneys on a regular basis, and within a couple of months I’d developed a kidney stone roughly the size of a guitar pick, or so it appeared on the MRI scan. Without getting too graphic, when a kidney stone passes from the body it must exit through the meatus, and an object approximately the size of a guitar pick cannot fit through a hole that small.
It had become a very serious health concern that required a surgery called a lithotripsy, which without going through all the gory details, made for a miserable month of July as surgical stents were implanted to keep my kidneys from experiencing renal failure until the surgery could be performed, and lasers pulverized the stone into gravel.
It became an important learning experience for me. The experience told me that I need to drink more water. I realized that also needed to change my diet after losing twenty pounds. I knew I needed to make some changes in my life if I wanted to live longer without ever experiencing another kidney stone again. I needed to eat less and exercise more.
Indeed, God allows us to experience real pain and suffering so we can truly appreciate the pleasure of relief. Without sorrow, we simply cannot understand what joy is. Pain is another kidney stone. Pleasure is a round of golf on a beautiful day, no matter how badly I play.
I first met John Burgstiner in high school. He has been my friend for forty years now, and my most frequent golfing partner. John owns a business called Logos Nutritionals, a health supplement company. The company sells pharmaceutical-grade nutritional supplements to target the underlying causes of illness rather than merely treating the symptoms.
The company’s flagship product is the Complete Thymic Formula, which was developed by John’s father, Dr. Carson Burgstiner. The history of this formula is truly remarkable. Dr. Burgstiner had developed hepatitis-B and declared by the state of Georgia to no longer be allowed to practice medicine due to the risk he posed to his patients as an OB-GYN. In desperation to solve his problem so that he could resume his medical practice, Dr. Burgstiner applied his intellect to the disease and developed the Complete Thymic Formula. Dr. Burgstiner was able to resume his medical practice after test results confirmed he was free of hepatitis-B and he had a new product unlike anything else on the market.
The Food and Drug Administration doesn’t like for nutritional supplement companies to claim their products heal diseases, so you won’t ever hear John Burgstiner claim that his Thymic Formula will cure anything. He won’t, so I won’t say that, either. But I will say I’ve personally listened to John speaking on the phone with his customers and they have made some incredible claims. One person claimed that the Thymic Formula relieved all of his symptoms of Lyme and Morgellon’s disease.
John recommended that I start taking Essential Flora, which contains acidophilus and prevents the formation of certain types of kidney stones.
Wanting to make sure he covered all the bases, John also started giving me a supplement called MagNotCal, which adds magnesium and removes excess calcium from the body to prevent the other type of kidney stone from developing.
For good measure, John recommended that I take his Colon Pro Health product, which I love. Without getting into any graphic details, the probiotics in that product have improved my body’s ability to eliminate waste efficiently.

Another product that John recently started giving me on is called Fitcose 1C and I’m very excited to report that after I began taking the supplement, I soon stopped taking the medicine Metformin, and yet my blood sugar test results were terrific at my next routine physical. I recognize that I had also decreased my sugar intake by reducing the amount of sweet tea I drank. Losing twenty pounds never hurts, and I had made other lifestyle changes that positively contributed to that result. Even so, I’m always pleased when I can substitute a natural product for a medicine.
Finally, even though I have no symptoms of any disease that the Thymic Formula allegedly helps, I take a reduced dose of two capsules per day purely for maintenance purposes. I will not go so far as to say this year of taking products made by Logos Nutritionals improved my life all by itself, but combined with changes in my lifestyle, I can see the dramatic improvement.
I’ve also reached the age where a product called Adam’s Vitality helps with my “aging male” issues, such as how many times I have to get up during the night to go to the bathroom. The doctors had prescribed FloMaxx, but I’ve learned I don’t need to take both. I know it isn’t a cure for prostate cancer, but my concerns of developing prostate cancer have diminished considerably now that I’m taking Adam’s Vitality. For women suffering post-menopausal symptoms there is also an excellent product called Eve’s Harmony which soothes the dreaded hot flashes.
What is that old expression? An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure? Visit LogosNutritionals.com to see which of the products they offer could improve your life. I heartily endorse every product that I take myself, and I trust every product this company offers because I know these people personally.
