Why evolution cannot possibly be true

[This article has been inspired by the numerous visitors to my Facebook page for The God Conclusion who wish to argue the details of evolution theory in the hope of saving everyone their time. However, I know this attempt will ultimately be futile, just as all the others proved to be. Many people just like to argue for the point of argument, and nobody believes they can ever be wrong. (Sadly, this includes me.) The only difference is that I am willing to organize my thoughts into ordinary English and publish them for the world to see. I welcome people who will try to bridge the gap between my understanding and the real world without resorting to insults or sarcasm. I’ve been thinking about this problem for some time. However, it won’t be easy to change my mind at this point with mere words. I’m going to need to see some hard evidence; otherwise I shall remain a Doubting Thomas to Darwinism.]

There are very few incontrovertible facts in this world. For example, the universe exists. And life exists.

It should also not be a controversial fact that this image of the one-eyed dinosaur was a joke. Perhaps humorless people should contemplate the potential outcome before leaving snide yet serious comments about a joke. I may not be a professional biologist, but I have been blessed with common sense. I can still say what a woman is, and what a woman is not–anyone with XY chromosomes.

It is also an incontrovertible fact that life cannot evolve unless and until it exists. The theory of evolution is a human’s attempt to describe undirected changes that occur to living organisms over time.

Some changes are not controversial. Offspring grow into adults and have progeny of their own. The children, born of sexual reproduction (and therefore not the perfect clones normally produced by asexual reproduction), have minor variations that differentiate them from the parents. You’ll never see a chicken lay an egg that contains something other than a chicken.

What has never been witnessed (and is generally considered unobservable) is that the children of the offspring being different enough from the parents that they should be rightfully called a new or different species. Fish produce other fish and apes produce apes, etc.

Evolution is not an incontrovertible fact, or any other kind of fact. It’s not even really a scientific theory. It is a philosophy posing as a scientific theory and expressed using scientific evidence. Bits of bone and a vivid imagination do not make incontrovertible facts. The theory of evolution primarily exists to offer atheists a feasible alternative to the creative power of God. Except evolution isn’t really feasible.

The theory of evolution cannot possibly be true because in the story of our universe multiple miracles are required before evolution can become possible. First the universe must be created from nothing, then it must be precisely stretched so that it becomes the habitat in which we exist today, and then life must be created from inanimate matter.

The origin of the universe from nothing was an enormously improbable event. The animation of inanimate matter is another ridiculously improbable event. When two very improbable events are required for something to exist, their improbabilities should be multiplied together to produce an overall improbability. Eventually a stupendous improbability becomes a virtual impossibility simply due to the sheer amount of Luck required to make everything happen.

Only after the Big Bang, cosmic inflation, and abiogenesis have succeeded in the bigger picture can we even begin to entertain the possibility that an ape might eventually shape-shift into a human being, assuming enough Time and Luck can be added to the magic elixir that makes all things possible.

The most significant problem with this fantasy can be found in the fossil record, which contradicts Darwinian evolution from beginning (the Cambrian explosion) to end (currently, stasis) with multiple mass extinctions in between. Time is compressed by these mass extinctions.

I can anticipate the criticisms of this article that will inevitably come before they have been conceived by their authors: “read a book!” some will say.

Okay. Which book? I’ve already read Why Evolution is True, The Greatest Show on Earth, Evolution and the Myth of Creation, Your Inner Fish, and at least a half dozen other popular books on evolution. I need to know what books you might have read that I somehow overlooked. Biology isn’t even the most complicated scientific discipline. Physics and chemistry are both more complex.

Yet “Go back to school!” others might suggest.

The problem with that idea is I’ve already reached retirement age and have absolutely no use for a college degree in biology. I have more interest in physics and chemistry, but no use for degrees in those, either. I’ll read any book you care to offer, and I can listen to any argument that you might have. Still, I should warn you that there almost certainly isn’t anything you could say that hasn’t already been said in one of the books I’ve read which means I’ve likely contemplated, and ultimately rejected any argument you might have because it is less logical and/or less robust than my alternative.

I’m simply being asked to believe something that logically makes no sense can somehow become possible in the long term when we know it is impossible in the short term. Dogs produce dogs, fish produce fish, apes produce apes, and humans produce humans. Your Inner Fish suggests that humans descended from fish because humans and fish share a few genes in common, which is utterly absurd.

Bizarre experiments have even been conducted where human sperm was implanted into chimpanzees in an attempt to create super soldiers, just like the plot of a bad science fiction movie–except it didn’t work. Because it couldn’t possibly work. Yet still many people believe that kind of evolution is possible because they have tremendous faith in the work of Charles Darwin.

Everybody puts their faith in something. However, I personally think that it’s foolish to put that degree of faith into our fellow man. I shall only trust in a truly superior intellect. Human intellect, no matter how smart the individual may be, simply isn’t smart enough to solve all of these unsolvable problems. Man must learn his limitations.

Seven miracles are required before you can exist, but humans are unable to cause any of these miracles to occur. The only alternative to my Creator God is not evolution because the theory doesn’t have any real creative power. Evolution (in theory) can only take something that exists and turn it into something else, given enough Luck and enough Time to make the impossible become possible.

Therefore, the gods of evolution are merely Time and Luck. And thus, evolution cannot possibly be true.
