Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer recently compared Congress passing the SAVE Act to the implementation of the infamous Jim Crow laws, which were expressly designed to suppress the voting rights of black Americans right after the Civil War had been fought to grant them those rights. However, the SAVE Act merely requires voters to present a photo ID in order to be able to cast a ballot, which makes his comparison despicable.
The irony is so thick you could cut it with a knife–after all, the Democrats gave us Jim Crow 1.0. The Democrats also fought on the wrong side (which were the “slave” states versus free states) of the Civil War. Democrats gave us the Ku Klux Klan. They gave us the infamous Tammany Hall corruption that ruled New York City with an iron fist until Boss Tweed’s conviction for embezzlement in 1873. Democrats aren’t the good guys.

They have never been the good guys. Democrats have a l-o-n-g history of fomenting strife between Americans from the party’s inception to even today. Andrew Jackson was a Democrat. He was a war hero during the War of 1812 who led the U.S. forces to decisive victory over the British in Battle of New Orleans, but as president, Jackson was an authoritarian who mistreated slaves and Native Americans. He put the Cherokee nation on the infamous “Trail of Tears” despite the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of the Cherokee nation, and thousands of Native Americans died as a result.
Bull Connor, George Wallace, and Lester Maddox were all Democrats. Sure, I can think of examples of a few Democrats who were decent politicians, but even the best had negative attributes. FDR led America to the brink of victory during World War II but also had the Japanese-American internment camps, for example. There were no comparable German-American internment camps. Now why would that be? Racism, perhaps? Sure, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor to officially draw us into the global conflict, but German U-boats had already been sinking American ships for several years. We were fighting both the Japanese and the Germans during World War II, so why were there only Japanese-American internment camps, but no camps for German-Americans?
This isn’t to say that Republicans are all great and wonderful either–in fact, they cave in to the Democrats so often it appears they are one big political party with two factions in cahoots with each other. There is a popular misconception that the “Southern strategy” led to all the racists in both parties magically switching sides so that all the racists who used to be Democrats became Republicans, but the reality is only one Senator from South Carolina who used to be a Democrat that supported segregation switched to the Republican Party–Strom Thurmond.
George W. Bush would obviously rather hang out with Barack Obama than Donald Trump even though Trump’s conservative philosophy (and party affiliation) match his much better than Obama’s. The difference is that Donald Trump is a businessman, but George W. Bush and Barack Obama are both career politicians. It’s one big Uni-Party that serves their own interests, not those of the American people. Republicans are mostly incompetent fools who willingly cooperate with Democrats far too often when the best interest of the American people is not being served.
But Democrats are congenital liars and mostly evil.
My point is, a Democrat ought to be the last person on Earth to mention Jim Crow because Democrats gave us Jim Crow. They also gave us internment camps that held American citizens, the Trail of Tears, and the KKK. Democrats are like a venereal disease–they are the gift that keeps on giving unhappiness. Now they want to give us Alex Pretti, presented as an ICU nurse who served veterans until he was heartlessly gunned down in the street by federal agents working for ICE. What is conveniently being ignored from the popular narrative is the fact that Alex Pretti was carrying a loaded gun plus an extra magazine and he had also had previous violent encounters with ICE agents.

Pretti belonged to a group of organized agitators looking to subvert federal law enforcement in the process of doing their jobs. Democrat politicians in Minnesota want the ICE officers publicly identified and charged with murder (after a sham investigation, of course) despite the fact that Pretti was carrying a loaded weapon while attacking ICE agents and had a history of violent attacks–here is a link to a video where Pretti spits on an ICE agent and breaks a taillight on a government vehicle. But the media wants us to believe Pretti was simply an innocent bystander and upstanding private citizen until the evil ICE agents senselessly murdered him. The case is still being investigated, but what appears to have happened was that Pretti was being detained when officers noticed the gun in his waistband. Officers tried to disarm him, and the gun might have been fired by mistake. Officers mistook the accidental discharge for Pretti attempting to shoot them, and in the heat of the moment, a tragic accident was the result. There is no reason ICE officers would want to deliberately murder an innocent civilian. He shouldn’t have had a gun…in fact, he shouldn’t have been there protesting ICE in the first place.
Pretti’s physical appearance even received an AI makeover. The Democrats and their accomplices in mainstream media even doctored photos of Pretti to make him look pretty, shortening his face, softening his features, and even giving his photo a tan despite it being the middle of winter in Minnesota. Why is the media giving this rabble rouser such a disgusting tongue bath? Reporters are not emphasizing the fact that Pretti was carrying a loaded weapon during a deliberate confrontation with law enforcement.
We’re being sold a bill of goods here. While the political left might want Pretti to be canonized for sainthood, there is no reason to believe he was an innocent civilian just minding his own business when Trump’s Gestapo viciously gunned him down in the street but lots of evidence that Pretti was the victim of a tragic and very preventable accident largely precipitated by Pretti’s own mistakes. Moral of the story: don’t carry a loaded weapon with you if you plan to violently attack federal law enforcement.

Now contrast the media coverage of the (probably accidental) shooting death of Alex Pretti and the shooting death of Ashli Babbitt by Capitol police officer Michael Byrd on January 6, 2021. Some people have complained that Byrd used excessive force in shooting an unarmed woman, but there hasn’t been a massive outcry for Byrd to be thrown in prison for her murder. People have pointed out that Byrd had a less-than-stellar service record and didn’t deserve a handsome reward of $30,000 bonus pay for shooting Babbitt, but there hasn’t been a vocal demand for Byrd to suffer any real consequences for his actions on that fateful day.
Should Byrd have suffered legal consequences? He should not be charged with murder, given the fact he fired a weapon he legally possessed as part of his job. However, if Ashli Babbitt’s family chose to sue Byrd in civil court, he would not want me to be sitting on his jury. Like Alex Pretti, Ashli Babbitt made a fatal mistake that cost her life. Pretti brought a loaded gun with him when he attacked ICE agents. Babbitt chose to climb through a broken window during the chaos of January 6th.
Michael Byrd probably panicked, just as the ICE agents who shot Alex Pretti probably panicked when his gun accidentally fired. Two tragic, preventable accidents. So, why is the media trying to paint Alex Pretti as a more sympathetic figure? Why does he merit an AI makeover? I suppose one could argue that Ashli Babbitt was an attractive woman who didn’t need a makeover, but should the media be using doctored or enhanced photos with hard news stories that always and only favor Democrats?
Not if they wish to remain relevant. CNN, MS-NBC, and now The Washington Post have all laid off “journalists” because the general public has grown tired of being fed propaganda. We want real news, but the lame-stream media clearly have an agenda to promote the interests of Democrat party at the expense of the truth.
The next time Chuck Schumer is screeching at the cameras that Republicans wish to implement Jim Crow 2.0, it would be nice if some reporter asked him why we had Jim Crow 1.0 and why he would want to shift blame to Republicans for the long, uninterrupted history of racism of the Democrat Party.
