A swift end to the madness

Judge Brett Kavanaugh

I think my idea for a quick and decisive solution to the ongoing debacle known as the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process is worth considering. The sad and unfortunate situation involving General Michael Flynn and his pending sentencing was the inspiration for this idea. After all, if a man who dedicated his life to serving his country can be ruined and threatened with prison by Bob Mueller, everyone should consider themselves fair game in this era of financial ruin and character assassination for political reasons, public servants and private citizens alike. In General Flynn’s situation, the FBI agent who conducted the initial interview thought he was telling the truth, and he’s still facing a prison sentence, conveniently postponed until after the November midterm elections.

The FBI can make everybody involved or named in the Kavanaugh hearings the exact same offer — if there’s any chance the accusations or the denials can neither be proved nor corroborated, that person has the option to recant their claim without suffering criminal penalty:

Make a public statement acknowledging you cannot or will not support your previous claims with corroborating evidence, and only risk public humiliation versus criminal penalty. Continue to move forward, you’d better be damned sure you’re telling the truth, because now you’ve got skin in the game.Every allegation against Judge Kavanaugh and every denial must be given in a sworn statement taken directly under oath by the FBI. Every witness must swear to their testimony under penalty of felony perjury, burdened with the knowledge that they will be prosecuted, put in prison, and financially ruined by the federal government if they get caught in a lie…or if the FBI agents simply don’t believe them. Or if repeatedly asking the same questions result in statements that seem to contradict each other. Michael Flynn is your role model.

Basically, it’s time for the FBI to play hardball. Somebody needs to go to jail.

Even though the results of a lie detector test are inadmissible in court, the FBI should administer lie detector tests to everyone involved because they are intimidating, while asking tough questions developed by FBI agents as opposed to questions written by friendly and sympathetic lawyers. “Everyone involved” extends to Senator Dianne Feinstein, who should be questioned under oath about how Professor Ford’s letter was leaked to the media, allegedly against her express wishes.

Somebody is lying.

If Judge Brett Kavanaugh is really guilty of attempted rape or gang rape or any of the tawdry, salacious allegations that have been made by Professor Ford, his confirmation should not only be denied, he should be put in prison. However, if he’s truly innocent, every one of his accusers who commit perjury should face the exact same prison sentence he would have gotten if their false accusations had led to his conviction. That isn’t what our laws require, it’s what our Creator requires.

If you’re going to falsely accuse someone of a heinous crime, you’d better be prepared to suffer the consequences. You might fool the court, and you might fool the public, and maybe even your own conscience (assuming you aren’t a sociopath) but you can’t fool God. There will be consequences.

Professor Ford had an alarming number of inconsistencies in her testimony versus written statements in regard to her testimony about the “two front door” construction on her house, including when and why it was done. Any objective observer paying even the slightest attention will recognize that at best her sworn statements and verbal testimony have some alarming inconsistencies, and at worst they may include deliberate prevarications.

Let the FBI sort this mess out. Put Ford under oath, and then put her in prison if she lies. The same goes for him. Ask Judge Kavanaugh, under oath and the stress of a lie detector test, if he’s guilty and her accusations are true. Equal risk and equal treatment. Let the chips fall where they may.

The only safe way out at this point is to immediately cry “Mea culpa!” at the top of your lungs before the FBI’s ringmasters start running this circus, only to endure whatever public humiliation that will follow. Die-hard liberals will probably continue to see and treat Ford as a victim, but most reasonable people will finally understand what just happened.

Judge Kavanaugh has his reputation and future at stake. The American people have a lot at stake.

Even the FBI have a lot at stake. After all, their reputation is in serious jeopardy at the moment. Remember, allegedly the FBI thoroughly vetted Judge Kavanaugh on six previous occasions, and if Professor Ford’s allegations can somehow be corroborated, it seems to indicate that while under the direction of Robert Mueller and later James Comey, that crucial investigative body was woefully mismanaged and effectively incompetent. Either the agents did their jobs well on six different occasions, or the rank-and-file agents are all bumbling idiots, and have been for decades — not just the upper management in charge during the Comey and McCabe era when partisan hacks ruled the roost.

The Democrats have sown the wind.

It is now time for the FBI to reap the whirlwind. Every one of these liars need to be publicly humiliated and the innocent exonerated. If that includes Judge Kavanaugh, so be it. Tell the truth, or go to prison. The truth is this circus freak show has really been all about abortion, and only abortion as the reason for stopping Judge Kavanaugh from reaching the Supreme Court. It has nothing to do lurid allegations about sex, or high school yearbooks. That’s only the excuse. Not the reason.

That’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. End of story.

End of controversy. Stop this madness. Swiftly. Decisively.

Ruthlessly.
